Maybe I am missing something simple here, but why blame specific things
like religion and tests for human misdeeds? A brief glance at history
should convince us that warfare and destruction is one of the defining
features of mankind, right up there with tool-making, language and the
creation of complex social and cultural groups. Like other mammalian
species we (men > women) grasp for status, dominance and territory, and
have complex social organization. Besides, our "psychology" easily
creates in-group/out-group distinctions. So it's no surprise that
warfare is an ever present activity of the species, not an aberration
with specific causes. At least this is my pessimistic spin on the whole
topic, and the reason I am in favor of strict gun control (I prefer
people "duke it out" with as little firepower as possible!).

Did I miss the link between IQ and death? What was it?
