16th Southeastern Conference on the Teaching of Psychology

The 16th annual Southeastern Conference on the Teaching of Psychology sponsored by the 
Kennesaw State University Department of Psychology and Center for Excellence in 
Teaching & Learning will be held at the Northwest Marriott Hotel, Atlanta GA (10 miles 
north of downtown Atlanta on 1-75) on February 27-28, 2004. The opening W. Harold Moon 
Keynote Address will be by Steve Hobbs and Tracie Burke will give the evening invited 
address. Concurrent sessions will focus on teaching techniques and issues in courses 
such as research methods, abnormal psychology, I/O psychology, and introductory 
psychology. Additional sessions will address topics such as service learning, 
techniques for using films in class, innovative assignments and grading methods, 
dealing with problem students in class, teaching controversial issues, and engaging 
students in research. A poster session and teaching idea exchange is also scheduled 
for participants. The registration fee of $160 covers all meals and receptions during 
the conference. A special reduced conference rate of $90 is available for high school 
psychology teachers and graduate students and $150 for each additional faculty member 
from the same institution. A block of rooms at the Marriott Northwest Hotel is 
available at the special conference rate of $85.
