Canadian law might place constraints on the acceptable bases for making a
challenge to seating any particular juror.

However, there is a considerable literature on the scientific selection of
jurors based on various characteristics.

Some useful refs (including one from a Canadian publication) follow:

Patterson, A. H. (1986). Scientific jury selection: The need for a case
specific approach. Social Action & the Law. 11, 105-109.

Wrightsman, L. S., Kassin, S. M., & Willis, C. E. (Eds). (1987). In the jury
box: Controversies in the courtroom.

Greene, E., Chopra, S. R. Kovera, M. B., Penrod, S. D. Gordon, R. V.,
Schuller,
R. & Studebaker, C. A. (2002). Jurors and juries: A review of the field. In J.
R. P. Ogloff (Ed.) Taking psychology and law into the twenty-first century.
Perspective in law & psychology. Vol 14 Kluwer/Acapemic/Plenum.

Vidmar, N., & Schuller, R. A. (2001). The jury: Selecting twelve impartial
peers. In Schuller, R. A. & Ogloff, J. R. P. (Eds.) Introduction to psychology
and law: Canadian perspectives. University of Toronto Press.

Hope these are helpful.
