I had set up all of my department and course websites using frontpage. I
can't remember why I originally selelected it, likely it was free. I found
it very cumbersome and if you use the templates there was considerable
baggage that had to be installed. I switched to dreamweaver about a year ago
and have been very happy with it. I found I had much more control over the
look of the sites, no unnecessary files. One problem to be aware of. For the
2004 version there is still a problem with the FTP function. It will not
connect to some servers. Although there are work arounds (I still have use
the previous version for uploading files or use a standalone ftp program),
they have not come up with a solution for 3 months.

Thanks to all of you for your advice. I'd been leaning toward
Dreamweaver or possibly GoLive, and now I'm more confident that my
leanings are sound.

I know what you mean, Kathy. I love Photoshop, but most of the Adobe
apps irritate me.

Sounds good; I'm going to look for that.

Again, thanks to everyone who responded; all the advice was helpful.
