My kids think of mjb/Dad and kh/his partner as their "parents"; not surprisingly, they consider me [female] and my [male] "significant other" their "parents", too -- I'm not sure it's any different functionally than any bunch of kids with two step parent-like members of their family...? Dad and mum will always be Dad & mum.
My favorite line from my oldest when he was about 19 is, "It's really cool, mum! I can honestly say that I really like both of my parents' boyfriends!"... ;-) ...
