Mike, Christopher, I am not opposed to tenure. You didn't read my RT
closely. I am opposed to abuses imposed on those seeking it and the
misuse of it by so many one they get it. It is ironic that as
psychologists you aren't recognizing or acknowledging (1) the overwhelming
fear-induced state that exists in the quest for tenure and (2) the fact
while eveyrone talks of academic freedom, far too many are thinking and
acting merely job guarantee. Tenure is not the real issue, people are.
