Perhaps as fascinating is the reverse question: Why was a politically
active Marxist involved with basic lab studies of conditioning (i.e.,
Solomon, Kamin, & Wynne, 1953)? Kamin's PhD was granted in 1954.

I took an undergraduate honors class with Dick Solomon and I remember
him reminiscing one day about Kamin's strong political views at that time.
