Mis-attribution, or omitted attribution,  such as that at the website 
http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~moraes/illusion.html is common practice on 
the web.  Perhaps it should be called the "Kurt Vonnegut sunscreen 
effect". Kitaoka is aware that his creation is being used 
inappropriately. If you check out his website, you'll find two 
notices.  The first, dated Septembert 24, 2003,  provides a download 
page and gives permission for people to display up to three of his 
images on a website, provided the site does not contain illegal or 
pornographic material, and provided that he is credited.  

His next notice is dated eight months later, and states that the 
download site has been closed due to illegal use of his work.
