I believe that Dr. Green should be strictly prohibited from using the term "disseminating" on this list (as he did in his most recent message below), as it is an obvious politically incorrect affront to members of both sexes (but especially men). I would suggest that his message be censored retroactively and replaced with far less offensive language. (OK, couldn't resist....sorry...).Not to mention the offense the term causes to those with erectile dyfunction (and are therefore dysseminating?) How about just inseminating? Reseminating? Contraseminating? Retroseminating? Sesquiseminating? What would the appropriate term be in this case? Even the apparently banal "spreading knowledge" would undoubtedly be offensive to those (like myself) who are discovering the bodily miracles of middle age. What is it one is supposed to do with knowledge that isn't offensive to someone? Delivering knowledge? But what of deliverymen -- uh, excuse me -- delivery-people. Would they not feel unfairly picked upon? I'll just shut up (my apologies to doors everywhere). -- Christopher D.
