Stephen: I'm guessing you're not part of the vast right wing conspiracy so note that when you write, "if Canadians could vote in that other thing that preoccupies Americans at the moment, Kerry would win in a landslide" the principle of psychological reactance kicks in and could have the opposite effect of what you might intend. I would reference the mirror-image perception phenomenon at this point and suggest you consider how it would sound if you heard that most Americans would vote for a particular individual for Canadian Prime Minister but, unfortunately, my American ethnocentrism just kicked in and I can't remember the name of your Prime Minister and I am just too apathetic to Google it. I don't even know if you have direct elections of your Prime Minister. You do have Prime Ministers up there, right?
