I have asked my students about e-books. They say they spend enough time looking at computer screens and do not want e-books. If I were to assign an e-book they said they would just print it out.
There's a basic technological issue here.
Computer screens currently have a resolution of about 100dpi -- commercially printed textbooks 1-2000dpi.
Reading on a computer screen is going to be more fatiguing, even for younger eyes than mine.
Ten years from now things may be different ....
