But presumably the keys are mapped onto different colour names. So without large amounts of practice, people are retrieving the colour name in order to press the key. As Claudia noted naming colours is slower than naming words, which sets the stage for Stroop interference. This has been known since the late 1800s. Does CogLab allow you to obtain RTs separately for these two tasks, so that you could verify this result?
