As I understand it (via a student who is doing a thesis project on this topic) the absolute accident rates of elderly drivers are not all that high, but the rate per mile (or kilometer, here in the frozen North) driven is substantially elevated.
When I chose (e), I was assuming that were were talking about accidents per mile.
But it is interesting that our usually precise Dr. Black was not so precise this time around. He seems to have something up his sleeve.
