WARNING anecdotal support ahead!
Many students comment that because of my introductory psychology class they have decided to minor in psychology. I attribute this interest in psychology to "bringing the class to life" with these "seductive details"
I've had the same sort of experience with my former students in physiological psychology: they took the class solely because of distribution requirements, but then changed their attitude toward the material and sometimes decided to keep pursuing it.
I'd like to read the Harp article, but I have no access to a copy of _ToP_, and there seems to be no on-line edition. Can anyone make a .pdf available?
