I don't know of any studies; we may be reduced to anecdotal evidence :( which 
might be better than no evidence. But I am also interested--it is a course I 
have taught every year and often every semester for about 18 years. I'd love 
to see some outcome work.

I am assuming for now that you are talking about teaching RM alone versus 
linked in various ways with a stats class? One semester, 2 semesters?
Did you have a particular approach in mind?
