I am actually doing a project on this, and the big names for humor and laughter are Rod Martin from the University of Western Ontario and … There are some good articles by Lefcourt and Kuiper. There is a meta-analysis in 2001 by Martin in Psychological Bulletin, vol 127 (4) that would be helpful. It is titled: Humor, Laughter, and Physical Health: Methodological Issues and Research Findings.
