May I retract all of which I said in my last two posts? I suspect that I have learned to read to end of a thread before offering comment. Mea culpa. D

Please do. I believe the leading contender to Pavlov in the classical conditioning department is Edward Twitmyer (1873-1943), and some believe we should be referring to Twitmyerian conditioning rather than Pavlovian. A photograph of Twitty (as his friends likely called him) suggests an absence of Blackness, and his dogs are definitely white. http://www.psych.upenn.edu/history/twittext.htm Stephen ----------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen L.
