Phil: If you go to www.Bookfinder.com and put O H Mowrer in the search box, you will find several books by him. The Crisis in Psychiatry and Religion covers his ideas on clinical psychology. Mowrer was a respected researcher on learning theory (one of the first to research use of pad and bell for treatment of bed wetting) and Past President of APA when he had a mental breakdown. Following recovery, he developed the theory that emotional disturbance/mental illness was caused by out misdeeds and "sins" making us guilty and miserable. He developed an approach to therapy called, Integrity Therapy. He wrote an autobiography that is a chapter in one of the volumes in the series, History of Psychology in Autobiography.

Tipsters,
Mowrer is often cited in the context of learning and conditionning.
But also within the field of psychotherapy, and according to some sources he seems to have worked at the integration of psychology and religon or spirituality.
Can anyone shed light on this? Any insight into Mowrer's bio?
Thanks
