Our network is very reliable. For the past few years we have lost connection to
the internet due to external problems (power outages that burned up equipment
or cut cables). Loss of internal resources is rare no more than once per
semester. Those losses have typically been caused by equipment failure. Our IT
staff works to anticipate those and has a regular schedule for upgrading "at
risk" equipment. We do lose services during the upgrades, but those are
typically done at "off times" like the first day the college closed for the
semester break.

How reliable is the computer network at your school. We seem to get
hit with frequent outages where email and web access is unavailable. I
wanted to know if that is common or are we an anomaly

Thanks
