When I was growing up on the Caribbean island of St.Lucia,I had a serious stuttering (stammering-British) problem.There was the belief that the severiuty of stuttering correlated with moon phases. Btw,I am branching into stuttering research.I have wanted to do this for a long time.Have met and studied the big wheels in Soeech Pathology:Van Riper,Johnson and Australian Aubrey Yates.
In St.Lucia,people thought that I could modify my stuttering by drinking water out of conch shells or water pounded in a mortar and pestle.
