I am in the early stages of a research project, examining the role of faculty in referring students to the campus counseling services.
If you would like, I would be curious if you could share an experience or two you've had with referring students. What factors do you believe led the student to disclose to you their problems? How comfortable did you feel in being able to guage the severity and sincerity of the student's complaints? What was it like to try and get the student to seek help? Is there anything you wish the help-givers could have done / would do in order to facilitate your role in this process? Just trying to gather some initial impressions and experiences on this topic.
