We have a minimally staffed/funded counseling service for 9500 students--when students have serious problems and talk to me, they usually already have outside contacts. It's still primarily a commuter school. If students ask, I usually consult with clinical colleagues for outside referrals. Our disability service office does tell us that an increasing number of students with behavioral, mental problems are being admitted. So far however, the problems I see have to do with reading comprehension, and lack of academic skills, not mental health issues. What about support for the stress and burn-out of dealing with poorly prepared, semi-literate, and teacher-blaming students? I want better counseling for us! All we have is a X!OXing departmental TGIF now and then. I want better drugs!! Now! Aaaagh! I ..I... I am enjoying spring break, I am enjoying spring break (deep breaths, deeep breaths...tap tap tap). Where was that cute fish video again? Gary
