I have used a variety of textbooks - right now I am using Goldstein (it
just came out in a new edition so I'm not sure what changes were made). I
have used Reed and Solso in the past. While the book is certainly
important, I highly recommend getting Coglab. Having students do the
classic experiments that are covered in the book and in lecture has made a
world of difference to my students. I have them do 25 - in addition to
doing the experiments, I also make them write up the hypothesis, IV(s) and
DV(s). I then refer to these experiments in class and students can use
examples from these experiments on their tests.
