Michael you are on a roll: too much sun lately?

re: Kitty Genovese, I asked whether any tipsters have any information on this 
suggestion that the evidence as presented might have been embellished. I NEVER 
suggested it never happened. Clearly she WAS murdered!

Equally clearly the work of Latane and Darley and many others since has 
documented by-stander apathy, diffusion of responsibility, etc.

What I am asking is whether the bystander apathy effect was as pervasive as 
suggested in the early New York times report--even in Latane & Darley's studies 
they found that EVENTUALLY someone DOES help out.
