Paul (I think)- Which version of Sniffy were you using. I found shaping to be 
very simple (and to very closely match my experience with "real" rats). :) I 
too was using Sniffy Pro- and I did shaping as a demonstration in class- more 
than once. I have to admit that, if anything, shaping seemed to be a bit easier 
with the simulation than in reality (except that in reality you can "seed" the 
bar and speed things up!). :) But I'd never teach that as a principle! Tim

Problem is, Sniffy (at least the last time I tried it) was NOT based 
on the data of the behavior of a live rat.  If you try to shape it 
the way that you would shape a real living organism nothing happens.
You have to follow its instructions.
