I have a personal question to those of you who are affiliated with APA clinical programs or can forward my question. I'm sorry for the cross listing. My son is a sophomore in an interdisciplinary program Philosophy, Politics & Law. After meeting a friend of mine who is a clinical psychologist working with PTSD patients at our local VA hospital, my son is now thinking about becoming a clinical psychologist. As he put it, growing up with two experiemental psychologists, he never realized how interesting psychology is. If he picks up psychology as a second major he will not be able to graduate in time and his school does not have a psych minor. If he were to keep his current major, how difficult would it be for him to be admitted into an APA clinical program. If he were to apply without a psychology degree, what course would the admissions committees look for?
