Lifespan Developmental Psychology
St. Norbert College (www.snc.edu), a selective, residential, liberal arts institution with a stable enrollment of 2000 students, invites applications for a tenure track position in Lifespan Developmental Psychology to begin in August 2008. While preference will be given to candidates who will have completed their Ph.D. by the time of employment, well-qualified ABD candidates are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach a section of lifespan human development each semester; share responsibility for teaching courses in general psychology, basic statistics, and/or research methods each year; and offer additional courses in developmental psychology consistent with her or his interests and expertise. The ability to offer a course on adult development and aging is desired. Courses on other topics (for example, psychology and gender, moral development, or cognitive development) are welcome. Faculty members typically teach three four-credit courses each semester. Opportunities exist for research and for supervising student field placements in a range of settings, including an on-campus child-care center and facilities for special needs and elderly populations in the local community. The successful candidate will become a member of a five-person psychology discipline. The current members represent a broad array of subfields, and share a commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduates and collaborating with or supervising them in research and/or internship activities.
