One of the "science" cable channels (i.e., National Geographic, Discovery, etc -- I forget the specific one) had recently shown a video entitled "Wild Child: The Story of Feral Children" (2004). I could only watch part of it. A description of the video is provided at: http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:qTweB1zaDZ8J:teacherweb.com/on/cawthrapark/bourdon/VideoSummary.doc+genie+wiley+%22feral+children%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=13&gl=us or http://tinyurl.com/2ef9rz (this is Google's HTML version of a PDF available at the teacherweb.com website). A couple of points about what I saw: (1) It provides a limited review of the history of "feral" children including Victor (focus of Truffaut's film "The Wild Child"). (2) Genie is reviewed and her family name (Wiley) is used to identify her family members. (3) There is a recent case of a Ukrainian girl name Oksana (some websites have it a Oxana) who was treated somewhat similar to Genie but whose companion was a dog. Scenes of Oksana barking into video camera was when I changed channels.
