I was talking to a visiting tourist and he told me that he was a prof with

I was surprised by that.
Is a Canadian Masters equivalent to a U.S PhD or the British D.Sc ?
No. But 30 years ago, at a newly emerging university, like Carleton was in
the 1970s (it had been a small college prior to that), it would have been
possible, in some circumstances, to get tenure as with an MA, as it was in many
small, new schools across the continent.

It is also possible that a Masters in Geography was a terminal degree like
the MFA and MBA I am sure that there are schools that offer PhD s in Geography
but Geography as a field was probably not a very important major.t.I like
Geography and there is need to have a sub-field dubbed Geographic Psychology.
Are Canadian students not knowledgeable (sp) about geography as American
students? U.S students would probably get an F in this subject.
And now to tesr Tipsters: what is the capital of Croatia? (Do not look it up)
