This is a ridiculuous situation and I hope it is resolved in your
favor.  In the meantime, I would suggest that you examine what
local resources you might have in dealing with the situation.
Clearly, getting legal advice is one route but perhaps you should
should contact your local American Association of University
Professor (AAUP) representative (I believe that Jim Perley
who used to be in Wooster's biology department was AAUP's
national president at one time;  there may well be other AAUP
folks on campus).  If you can't find a local representative, then
I suggest you contact the national office of the AAUP:

It might be best to make a phone call to AAUP and ask for
their advice.
