Can we learn about social and economic factors about a country by noting
responses to e-mails? I can categorically state that South Americans are very
slow or do not respond to e-mails especially from the educational and
professional sectors. Try sending e-mails to their consulates in the U.S
and one is not likely to get a response. Now ,as the unchallenged
Cross-cultural dude on Tips, I am aware that
personal and face-to-face contacts are more relevant in the Americas. But I
suspect the degree of the latency factor in e-mail responding could indicate
future cultural
and economic pace development.
Another correlative indication of advancement is "speed of walking".It is said
that one can always detect an American ins in Toronto because they walk fast
and seem to know where they are heading (no wondering around).
Still another indication of advancement is "paying attention to time." And the
U.S and Japan are nuneri uno in this regard.
How do you read these observations?
