This is outrageous and an issue we all should write letters to various
media and related journals to express/explain why. Whining Michael? When
a group of professionals have an association that receives 1/3 of their
budget from a for-profit companies that benefit from these very same
professionals using their product, that's extremely unethical. And, as
Chris mentions, the president-elect has close to $5 million stake in the
very pharmaceutical companies whose products they (psychiatrists) are
being encouraged to prescribe. And Tim, I realize you were doing your
best to be diplomatic, but their is a vast difference in the quality of
research conducted by the psychiatric community compared to the
non-clinical psychological community.

Not only do we all need to respond to this scandalous situation but we
also have to try our best to let the public understand the distinction
between the psychiatrist community and the psychology community as many
truly don't know this.
