Ah, we simply stand on empirical evidence, historical lessons (e.g., psychic 
experiences and repression), and reason.  Some of us also may have personal 
experiences we can share.   I also feel a degree of humility and skepticism 
should go hand in hand when we present such issues for class discussion, 
emotionally defensive reactions should be expected when our questions touch 
upon beliefs that have not been sufficiently examined.  Gary
