Tipsfolk,

I frequently ask students to write a poem from topics I give them to review for
a test. Here's a sample of what they have written (feel free to dim the lights
as you read)

Piaget studied the way kids think
So, here's our poem we hope it doesn't stink.
In cognitive development, he made stages
For the kids' different ages
0 to 2 is the stage when motor behavior and connection sensation is the
sensorimotor phase
2 to 7, they learn to use symbols.
This is preoperational but from 7 to 12 concrete operational
Kids can manipulate ideas
In their head and in the final phase
12 and above it becomes formal operational where thinking become more full.

Assimilation adds to the existing 411
And accommodation alters the existing structure to create a new one
A new one to balance between is equilibrium and that is learning
