Back in my grad school days at Wichita State and Mizzou, some of my colleagues
were of the opinion that grad students should schedule comprehensives, theses
and dissertation defenses on Fridays because committee members were most likely
to be in a hurry to go home .One grad told me that his oral comprehensives and
dissertation lasted less than fifteen minutes. He scheduled both on Fridays
before major holidays.
I have heard other tales such as scheduling in the late afternoons but never on
Mondays or early morning.
So is there a Friday effect? Maybe some Tipsters can post their experiences.
And Paul and Mike P,please no ad hominem attacks
