Mike P added the point: (1) Labelling "guy interest" films as "dick flicks" may be offensive to a number of people (though not necessarily to the guys who enjoy such films) because it focuses on a specific part of the male anatomy in contrast to the specifics of such films. To be truly even, female oriented-movies would have to be called "vaj films" which I think many people would find far more offensive than "chick flims" though this term is slowly making its way into the public lexicon.
I agree that it is offensive to many. Although I think to be equivalent to "dick flicks", "vaj films" would have to be changed to a more vulgar term since the equivalent of "vaj films" would be "penis films". Hopefully, women wouldn't be insulted at being treated on an "equally" vulgar basis. The same goes for another post which commented that the author was waiting to see who had the "balls" to reply (I think the last time I heard that was in grade 11). But, again, perhaps the author of said post should have also used a vulgar name for some female parts--in the interest of being fair. If these types of posts/responses won't do, then they should be avoided, otherwise we should definately try to be inclusive. --Mike --- To make changes to your subscription contact: Bill Southerly ([email protected])
