This was in my email this morning: Mental Health Worker >From our There's Something for Everyone Department, the Mental Health Worker list is an ongoing, nonmoderated discussion list by and for those working in entry-level psychology, psychiatry, and mental health-related jobs requiring a bachelors degree or less. The interesting aspect of this list is that the hosting organization, the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians, is using discussions on the list to write a textbook for mental health workers. Contributors are welcome, and the list is open to a fairly wide range of occupations. The introductory section mentions: psychiatric technicians and aides, nurses aides in psychiatric settings, behavioral health technicians, chemical dependency counselors, habilitation technicians, milieu specialists, and forensic guards.
