Someone wrote this in more detail the other day. My view is that if you can
teach the tools to good thinking rather than any specific knowledge, you'll
have done them a tremendous favor. Secondarily, if you can communicate an
infatuation/love for the subject matter and for people. A dose of critical
thinking skills, a love of learning, and respect for people. It is better
with a degree but it isn't a bad goal (or objective?).
