In response to the request for videos on individualism/collectivism,
a great one to illustrate this dimension of culture is Preschool in Three
Cultures.

For this video, Joe Tobin and colleagues taped a day at three
different preschools - in Japan, China, and the USA (Hawaii). They then
had the staff at each of these preschools view the tapes of the other
two schools and recorded their comments. There are many indicators of
individualism/collectivism in the video dealing with such issues as
classroom conflict management, the degree of individual choice in the
curriculum, teacher-parent interactions, lunchtime behavior, and
ownership of the classroom. I use this video early on in my cross-cultural
psychology course and find that students refer back to it throughout
the semester.

The video accompanies 1989 book of the same name. Information on the
book and video is available from Yale University Press.
