Heck, it was Dement who was primarily responsible for promulgating the
REM = dreaming equation in the first place.  If he's recanted, now
that would be interesting.

He's also the originator of the claim that REM deprivation causes
psychological problems. And he did recant on that one, although not
everyone noticed.
