I faithfully saved all the thank you messages people sent me for
TIPS postings. I thought they were in a very safe place. Unfortunately
I did not count on the very heavy rains we had and I got water seepage
in my basement where my home office is. The worst part was that they
were filled in a box in a corner where the seepage was and I did not
discover until recently. At this point they have black fuzzy stuff
all over them.
My sad tale gets even sadder. I particularly need all the support
materials I can gather because I recently settled a grievance that took
over a year to settle. It began when my former chair recommended
that I not be reappointed because he says he did not get my annual
report but did not bother to talk to me. The final resolution is that
I am reappointed for this year, applying for tenure which I should
have done last year, but if I get turned down I do not get a terminal
year. They consider last year to have been my terminal year. I can not
afford to sue and this point do not have grounds.
So if you feel my postings to the list have been
helpful, would you drop me an email that I can copy off and put in the
teaching section of my tenure application?You will have my eternal
gratitude and I will share the million dollars I am going to win in
the lottery although I never buy a ticket.
