I was at the National Center for Health Statistics meeting in Washington.
One of the papers demonstrated a site that I think is available on the
web. It allows you to put in different parameters and then tells
you which states would be best. It then allows you to choose those
states to look at closer to see which counties and within those counties
to actually look at the data. The presenter used two scenarios - the
first was a young couple first starting out and the second was the same
couple choosing a retirement community.
The site would be great to use in a lifespan course to illustrate how
we make different choices at different stages of our life and how that
affects where we might want to live. Unless someone knows the
address of the website I will look through my notes to see if I have it.
