Tipsters -

Okay, I confess I said "fantastic" to whet your appetit and get your
attention. ;) We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, excellent
teacher (much like the people on this list) who has an active research
program and enjoys doing research with undergraduates. (See ad below; also
appearing in APA Observer and APA Monitor).

My two cents: This is a wonderful place. (1) The students here are bright
(ave SAT = 1250), genuinely nice, and very motivated (I treat them like
graduate students, and they, in turn, act like them; 3 of my students have
well-deserved first-author journal publications (in social psych) in the
past year and a half), (2) the faculty is progressive and close-knit, and
(3) Austin is an awesome place to live. The teaching load is 3/3, but here
in psych we get to count research with students as a class, so we
essentially teach 3/2 (plus, we are currently revising our master plan, and
many of us are pushing for a 3/2). One more plug: a first-year person here
would get likely get some double-preps (e.g., 2 intro sections back to
back).

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
Thanks for your interest!!
