Have you looked at Mynatt & Doherty's (1999) Human Behavior? It is an Allyn and Bacon
book. It has 42 chapters, each organized around a particular idea or issue. Each
chapter is less than 10 pages long. I haven't used but it looks good and it is
certainly different. It doesn't even have color pictures and it is a paperback so it
will probably save the students a few bucks as well.

I am looking for a different type of intro. text. One that is not organized in the
usual fashion of offering a broad survey approach to the course. I am finding many of
these texts unwieldy and boring. Is there a text out there that organizes intro.
psychology around topics or issues, for an example? Any suggestions on recent,
somewhat "unusual" introductory texts would be appreciated.
