Hi Folks,

I just had a very pleasant phone conversation with Griffen Davis, V. P.
Marketing at www.collegestudents.com. They are very open to input both
from faculty and students and they are working to maintain a site that
will be useful to students.

In regards to students comments, they periodically filter posts for
extreme profanity and extremely harmful comments. Basically, it sounds
as if they filter for some of those outrageous posts that I stumbled
across. If it has mild profanity and reports that the instructor is
rotten, that will stay (as personally, I think it should - I had some of
those folks along the way!)

In the future (next couple of months), they plan on redesigning the site
so that the username (clickable) will be attached to each comment.
Additionally, the professor will have a place to respond to the
comments. This should provide a measure of accountability.

The bottom line is that if you visit the site and see a very problematic
post (about yourself or others), you can contact
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or call 1-888-915-6200 to report your
concerns. This, of course, does not guarantee that the post will be
removed but does provide a measure of recourse.

I was so reassured by my conversation, that I mentioned that my
university wasn't even listed. For my colleagues who are also on the
list - no need to thank me ;-)
