My understanding about use of published materials in internet courses is
that you are probably OK provided that your site is password protected and
that the material is available for a limited time.  You can put material up
for the term but you need to take it off the web when the term is over.
Repeated use of the same published material in subsequent terms might put
you in a grey area and you should probably consider seeking permission to
use the material at that point.  

We had a recent case on our campus where the librarians asked a faculty
member to not place the same materials on reserve every term (note, this
did not involve placing stuff on the internet, but in the library's reserve
section).  The librarians were concerned that this might infringe on fair
use under current interpretations.
