I'm a pessimist. Don't most groups develop scapegoats? People who are
different get tagged as the scapegoat. I believe the in-group/out-group
literature from social psychology illustrates that we exaggerate small
differences until the in- and out- groups are clearly discriminable. The same
may happen when we scapegoat. So, I belong to the "let's shrug it off"
philosophy. Today it's Michael, tomorrow it'll be someone else.
What amazes me are the number of replies to Michael's questions. I think
the problem with tips these days is that many of the regular tips questions are
on topics we have already discussed ("we" = tipster veterans). I haven't seen
anything new recently. Michael's questions fill a void that we ourselves are
responsible for, and have a responsibility to fill. I challenge everyone on
tips to generate some questions/tips/ on our teaching, or, psychology.

p.s. (totally unrelated to tips) shouldn't a .sig file created in MS Word
work? Why does it appear as gibberish? Do I have to save it as a text file? an
html file? :(
