SAT v. GRE

I have been inquiring about our students' performance on GRE's.  I was told 
today by an administrator that the SAT's and GRE's were almost perfectly 
correlated (positively).  I find this dubious.  Further, it was strongly 
implied that a college education doesn't effect those scores!  

Does anyone have any information or citations that could help me embarass her?
