John -

I've had good luck using "Psychology on a Disk" in my classes. Student buy a
disk (~$15) and work through the exercises on their own, turning in a
printed report that the program can generate. Once one student has begun
using the disk (they log in with some information the first time they use
it), it can't be used by other students. How they fit the whole thing on one
floppy is a mystery to me...

There are 13 interactive programs (including some student-as-subject
experiments, some simulations, and a couple of tutorials). I make it 10% of
the final course grade to complete 10 exercises, letting students choose
which 10 they do. It's fairly painless, and the student feedback I've gotten
is that a few students tell me that the exercises are hard and several
others volunteer that they liked doing them.

Good luck with your class!
