Hi Tipsters. Along with a couple of colleagues, I am in the process of
developing an NSF CCLI-EMD grant proposal. The major idea is to develop a
teaching laboratory space that could be used to incorporate
hand-on research projects into many of the courses in our curriculum.
Currently, our research methodology class has a laboratory component and
is required of all majors before then can complete "content" courses. We'd
like to develop a teaching lab that could be used to improve the
experience in that course as well as develop hands-on projects that
would be incorporated into the content courses or 1-3 credit lab courses
that could be elective co-requisites for those content courses.
The reason I'm writing this note is to ask if any of you have (or know
someone who has) information/materials -- especially ones that were
developed as part of a funded CCLI grant. Any information you'd be willing
to share would be helpful (syllabi/course outlines, lab manuals,
instructions, procedures, project ideas, software or hardware
recommendations, etc.) The three of us working on the proposal represent
learning, comparative, and biopsychology and have some pretty good ideas
for those areas (of course, we are still open to suggestions). Areas we
are not as sure about are Sensation and Perception, Cognitive, Social,
Developmental, Abnormal, and Personality. We'd like to share the ideas
with our colleagues who teach these courses to see which courses will be
able to incorporate these activities.
Thanks, in advance, for your help. --SLS
